This website is a resource for examining the verified, public facts behind Niels Troost’s sanctionable activities.
Three independent government agencies determined that Troost (and affiliated entities) knowingly circumvented sanctions to support Russia: The UK, EU, and Switzerland.
Troost’s claims of being targeted by a former business partner lack substantiation, as sanctions decisions are based on independent investigations, not personal accusations.

Who is Niels Troost?
Niels Troost is a Dutch oil trader with 30+ years experience in trading Russian crude oil, operating through complex corporate structures in Geneva and the UAE.
Beginning in 2023, Troost and several associated entities were sanctioned for circumventing Western sanctions on Russian oil and aiding Russia in evading price caps.
In response, Troost has attempted to shift blame onto former business partner Gaurav Srivastava, accusing him of launching an alleged “disinformation campaign” in an attempt to divert attention from his own actions. This is despite the fact that Troost was trading Russian oil before, during and after his partnership with Srivastava.
The Financial Times and others have been taken in by Troost's curated fairy tale that he was defrauded by a fake CIA spy (allegedly Srivastava) to distract from his sanctionable activities. The facts surrounding their brief business partnership do not support his fantasy, which is why Troost has filed no legal action against Srivastava (aside from a fraud allegation that quickly was dismissed in Swiss courts on the basis that it was too fantastical to be believed). Instead, Troost has decided to use the press, where he can control the narrative.
Srivastava, on the other hand, have filed legal actions against Troost in multiple jurisdictions.
